Online registration, presented by Dick's Sporting Goods, is now closed for the 27th Annual Gatorade/Steelers 5K Race, Fitness Walk and Kids Kickoff Run. You can still register for the race in person on Friday, September 4th from Noon until 8 p.m. at Heinz Field Gate C and on race day beginning at 7 a.m. in the FedEx Great Hall at Heinz Field.
The race benefits the Art Rooney Scholarship Fund and features a level course highlighted by a spectacular finish on the Heinz Field warning track.
The race begins at 9 a.m. and is chaired by Steelers Super Bowl XL teammates Charlie Batch and Brett Keisel. Kendall Simmons will serve as the honorary starter for the Kids' Kickoff.
Gatorade is the title sponsor of the race, and Nike is the official outfitter for the race. Additional event partners include Dick's Sporting Goods, Giant Eagle, KDKA-TV 2, WDVE-FM, ESPN Radio 970 and Novo Nordisk.
About the Art Rooney Scholarship Fund
The Art Rooney Scholarship Fund was established in memory of the late founder of the Steelers, who died in August of 1988 after living most of his life on the North Side. A $12,000 scholarship in Art Rooney's name is presented annually to a graduating senior from local high schools - Perry (two scholarships through the Pittsburgh Promise) and Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic. Since its beginning, the scholarship has awarded grants to more than 75 local students.
Packet pickup and late registration will be Friday, September 4th from Noon until 8 p.m. at Heinz Field Gate C (free parking in Ridge Avenue lot) as well as morning of the race beginning at 7 a.m. in the FedEx Great Hall at Heinz Field.
Day of race packet pickup and registration will begin at 7 a.m. in the Great Hall at Heinz Field with free parking in Gold Lots 1 & 2 at the stadium. Registration on Friday and day of race are cash or check only; we are unable to accept credit cards.
All Clear Bag Policy
The All Clear Heinz Field Bag Policy will be in place on race day. The following bags ARE permitted into Heinz Field and will be subject to screening at the entrance.

Kids' Kickoff Run
The Kids' Kickoff Run begins at approximately 10 a.m.; however participants must arrive by 8 a.m. because the roads will be closed from approximately 8:30 until 10 a.m.
